A leading AM 100 law firm with a renowned corporate practice is seeking a Counsel to join its International Trade & National Security team. This firm has offices across major U.S. cities, including Washington, D.C., Northern California, New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle. The team advises clients such as advanced manufacturers, fintech companies, defense contractors, and innovators in emerging technologies on export control, sanctions, foreign direct investment reviews, and trade policy.

Job Description:

The Washington, D.C. office is hiring a Counsel for the Trade & National Security practice. Candidates should have:

  • at least eight (8) years of relevant experience in trade and economic sanctions, U.S. export controls, and national security matters. Key areas include EAR, ITAR, OFAC compliance, trade policy, product classifications, license applications, and CFIUS filings.
  • Superior academic credentials, strong communication skills, and an interest in technology or life sciences.
  • Experience with government or in-house roles is preferred but not required.
This fast-paced practice offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies, company founders, and senior government officials. Strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills are essential.

Benefits and Compensation Details:

This firm offers a comprehensive benefits program, including Healthcare, Life Insurance, HSAs, FSAs, and wellness programs.

  • Compensation Range: $375,000 - $435,000 USD
    The actual base salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location. A discretionary bonus may also be available based on performance.
