Senior Real Estate Paralegal

Our client, a well-regarded legal firm, is seeking to add a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to their team in Baton Rouge, LA. This role will involve providing full-time support to a group of attorneys within the Business practice group by handling various substantive legal tasks under their guidance. The perfect candidate will possess solid technology skills, a strong work ethic, and keen attention to detail, along with a good grasp of real estate, contracts, and transactional law.
Job Summary:
This law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Real Estate Paralegal to join our distinguished team. As a key member of the firm, you will assist with all aspects of complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the real estate landscape and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in managing both pre- and post-closing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of disbursement statements, closing documents, and title policies for commercial real estate transactions.
- Demonstrate experience in all stages of the pre- and post-closing process for commercial real estate and finance transactions.
- Communicate effectively with various parties to ensure seamless and efficient closings.
- Order titles, conduct title reviews, prepare title commitments, obtain payoff letters, submit title requirements to lenders, organize loan documents, balance closed files, disburse funds accordingly, and issue final title policies.
- Analyze title documents along with real property legal descriptions and surveys to mitigate risks for clients.
- Coordinate with outside title companies and law firms concerning title insurance policy issues while ensuring satisfaction of closing conditions.
- Address post-closing matters effectively; oversee the preparation of comprehensive closing binders.
- Draft UCC financing statements as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. A four-year college degree and/or a certificate in paralegal studies is preferred.
- Significant prior experience may be substituted for a combination of the educational requirements.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of paralegal experience, specifically in commercial real estate legal matters is required.
- Must have a high level of computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office Software Suite and a working knowledge of document management systems.
- Ability to utilize current technology effectively is required; experience using electronic resources and support software is strongly preferred.
- Excellent time management capabilities, strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient proofreading skills are essential.
