Our client is a highly respected legal firm seeking a dedicated Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join their dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions in a collaborative and professional environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions, including the creation of disbursement statements, closing documents, and title policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in all stages of the pre- and post-closing process for commercial real estate and finance transactions is required. Responsibilities include:
    • Communicating with various parties to ensure seamless and efficient closings
    • Ordering title, performing title review and clearance
    • Preparing title commitments
    • Obtaining payoff letters
    • Submitting title requirements to lenders
    • Organizing loan documents
    • Balancing and disbursing closed files
    • Issuing final title policies
  • Analyze title documents, legal descriptions of real property, and surveys.
  • Coordinate with outside title companies and law firms regarding issues related to title insurance policies and satisfaction of closing conditions.
  • Address post-closing matters while overseeing the preparation of closing binders.
  • Draft UCC financing statements as needed.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory. A bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal studies certificate is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of some educational qualifications.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on commercial real estate law, is necessary.
  • High-level computer skills are essential, including proficiency in the MS Office Suite and familiarity with document management systems.
  • Proficiency in current technology is required, with strong preference given to candidates experienced in using electronic resources and support software.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective proofreading abilities are also essential.
  • Ensure compliance with billing requirements and adhere to all necessary deadlines.
